Abstract
|
|
|
Neonatal Isoimmune Thrombocytopenic Purpura due to immunization of the mother against fetal platelets occurs at least once in 5,000 births.
It is characterized by thrombocytopenia and platelet antibodies of the infant which are also present in the mother.
Affected infants often appear normal at birth but develop scattered petechial and purpuric hemorrhages soon after delivery:
We experienced a case in a 1 day?old neonate who had hard, purplish hematoma on trunk (Pig.1,2).
